Detailed Look at Resource Forecasting

My team recently implemented PDWare's Resource Forecasting Tools. The ordering process involved a custom quote, which was handled professionally. Delivery, being software, was immediate access, which was great. We integrated it with our existing project data, and the setup guides were quite thorough. It's really helped us predict future resource needs and identify bottlenecks before they happen. Customer support was responsive when we had questions about specific reporting functions. My only minor complaint is that some of the visualization options for reports are a bit limited compared to what I've seen elsewhere.

Essential for our PMO!

Oh my goodness, PDWare's PMO Software has transformed how we manage projects! We got the enterprise license, and the Project Governance Tools are exactly what we needed. It made our project workflows so much clearer and helped us make better decisions. The initial setup took a little while, as expected for something this comprehensive, but the support team was fantastic throughout. I can't imagine going back to our old system. This is an absolute must-have for any serious PMO, and we'll definitely be expanding our use of it next year!

Good for project accounting

Needed better Project Accounting. PDWare delivered. Setup was quick enough. It integrated with our existing systems. One report was hard to customize, but overall satisfied. It works.

Solid functionality, minor quibbles

We signed up for the Project Portfolio Management software after our demo. The strategic resource allocation features are powerful and really helped us prioritize. Integration with our existing tools was mostly smooth, but a few minor hiccups required some back-and-forth with support, which was generally helpful. I found the initial learning curve a little steep, and some of the reporting features could be more intuitive, but it's a robust system for the price we paid with the annual billing discount.

Easy to try out

I checked out the 14-day trial for their Resource Management software last month. It was pretty straightforward to get started, though I wish there were more pre-built templates for my industry. Overall, it felt good.

Consistent results with Time Tracking

We've been using PDWare for over a year now, primarily for their Time Tracking and Utilization Reporting. This latest renewal was as smooth as the first time. The data consistency is why we stick with them; it's always accurate and easy to pull for billing. Compared to our initial setup, the system has become more stable over time, which is a plus. While the core functionality is excellent, I still find the user interface for inputting time a bit clunky, and it could use a refresh to make it more user-friendly. Still, it does the job reliably.

Good for planning

Used the Resource Capacity Planning. It helped us see our team's workload better. Setup was quick. Support responded fast too. Just wish the interface was a bit more modern looking.

Comprehensive tool, minor setup hiccup

We recently integrated PDWare's Resource Management software for our mid-sized tech firm. The ordering process was straightforward; we spoke with a sales rep who walked us through the different tiers and pricing for annual billing. It took about a week for our account to be fully provisioned, which felt a little long, but the initial training session was very thorough. The software itself is robust. We've been using the Resource Capacity Planning and Utilization Reporting features extensively, and they've given us much clearer insights into our team's workload. The interface felt a bit overwhelming at first, but after a few days, it became intuitive. We did have a minor issue with the Jira integration initially, it wasn't syncing correctly, but their support team was responsive and helped us resolve it within 24 hours. Overall, it's a powerful tool that's already helping us optimize our project assignments.

Thinking of switching our team over to PDWare, but the pricing isn't super clear on their site. Anyone know if it's a per-user thing, or more based on features?

J Joseph Nguyen 1 month ago
Yeah, it's not a simple flat fee. From what I remember when we looked into it, they do custom quotes. It's usually per-user but also depends on what modules you need and the contract length.

E Elizabeth Smith 1 month ago
They definitely do custom quotes. We got a good deal because we have a large team and committed to an annual plan. Don't expect a simple 'buy now' button though, it's more like an enterprise thing.

How does PDWare stack up against Planview or Clarity PPM? Trying to decide which one to push for.

E Ella 2 weeks ago
PDWare feels a bit more specialized in resource management than Planview, at least from our experience. Clarity can be a beast to implement, PDWare felt a bit more straightforward.

J Jason D. 2 weeks ago
We compared them all. PDWare really shines for resource capacity planning and strategic allocation. Planview is good too, but we found PDWare's UI a bit cleaner for our specific needs.

Hey, wondering if PDWare offers a free trial or something similar to test it out before committing?

J Jeff N. 4 weeks ago
They definitely offer a free demo, and I think they have a 14-day trial too. Worth checking out for sure.

T Tim Thomas 3 weeks ago
Yeah, we did the demo first, then got a trial. It's the best way to see if it fits your workflow.

Is PDWare actually good for smaller teams or is it overkill? We're not a huge enterprise, just need better project tracking.

G Grace H. 4 weeks ago
It's definitely geared more towards enterprise stuff. Might be a bit much for a small team unless you're planning to scale big time.

S Sofia Green 4 weeks ago
They do custom quotes, so maybe you could get a scaled-down version? Worth asking their sales team, they're pretty helpful.

Does PDWare play nice with other stuff? Specifically wondering about Jira or Microsoft Project integrations.

B Brandon Allen 1 month ago
Yep, it totally integrates with Jira, which is super helpful for our dev teams. Cuts down on double entry.

A Andrew 1 month ago
I know it integrates with Microsoft Project. That was a big selling point for us since we already had a lot of our existing project plans in there.

Thinking of trying PDWare but the pricing isn't super clear. What's the deal, do they have a free trial or something?

D David Torres 1 month ago
Yeah they do. There's a 14-day trial you can sign up for, I just did it last week.

A Amanda Scott 1 month ago
You can also get a free demo of the full product, that's what I did before committing. Gives you a better feel for it than just the trial, I think.

Are there ever any promo codes for PDWare? Or is it all just direct negotiation?

S Sofia Green 2 weeks ago
Nah, don't think you'll find any public promo codes like for a regular e-commerce site. It's more about negotiating with their sales team based on your company's needs.
4
R Rachel A. 2 weeks ago
Pretty sure they don't do promo codes. But you can get a discount if you go for annual billing instead of monthly. And I think they offer non-profit rates if that applies to you.

Anyone know if PDWare has any promo codes floating around for new users? Trying to save a bit upfront.

J Jason Turner 2 weeks ago
Public promo codes aren't really a thing for them, from what I found. It's more about direct sales and negotiating.

D Danielle 2 weeks ago
I got a discount when I paid for a full year upfront, that saved me some. They also do volume discounts if you have a lot of users.
